For the first time, the CERVIM International Congress on Mountain and Steep Slope Viticulture will be held in Switzerland, in the city of Montreux on Lake Geneva. Switzerland lies at the heart of Europe, nestled in the Alps, with Lake Geneva situated at an elevation of nearly 400 meters. The country's viticultural area, covering approximately 14,000 hectares, is mainly located in the French- and Italian-speaking regions, which together account for two-thirds of the national vineyard surface.
