VIII. International Congress on Mountain and Steep Slopes Viticulture | Montreux – Swizerland 6 - 8 May 2026
For the first time, the CERVIM International Congress on Mountain and Steep Slope Viticulture will be held in Switzerland, in the city of Montreux on Lake Geneva. Switzerland lies at the heart of Europe, nestled in the Alps, with Lake Geneva situated at an elevation of nearly 400 meters. The country's viticultural area, covering approximately 14,000 hectares, is mainly located in the French- and Italian-speaking regions, which together account for two-thirds of the national vineyard surface. The cantons of Vaud, Valais, and Geneva are the most significant wine-growing regions, cultivating a wide range of grape varieties, including several unique to the area.
Lavaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007, is renowned for its exceptional landscape and longstanding wine tradition. Additionally, the “Fête des Vignerons” has been recognized as part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2016, celebrating a unique viticultural tradition that honors and showcases the daily work of winegrowers.
Participants who wish to present a talk or poster at the CERVIM Congress are invited to submit their abstracts to the scientific committee by 15 January 2026 at
Abstract submission and/or registration form.
